On 9 May, we celebrate Europe Day, commemorating the Schuman Declaration and marking the beginning of the European integration process. On its 75th anniversary,On its 75th anniversary, this event, the Board of Directors of the Spanish Committee of the LECE emphasizes that it invites reflection on the path travelled and the future opportunities that lie ahead for the European Union.

In this context, the Spanish Committee of the European League for Economic Cooperation (LECE) has published two statements (get here and here both statements) highlighting the role of the Union as a global actor and a driver of economic, social, and technological progress. LECE emphasizes the importance of further advancing political integration and strengthening European autonomy in key areas such as energy, defence, innovation, and the green transition.

These priorities align with the official message of the EU, expressed in a joint statement by the Presidents of the European Parliament, the European Council, and the European Commission, who call for a renewed commitment to the founding values of peace, democracy, and cooperation.
